Busan City has announced the new design for Busan city buses.
This is the result of the Busan City Bus Design Improvement Project worked on by Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Intra-City Bus Transportation Business Association and the Busan Design Center to meet the demand of the public for a unique bus design for Busan and to improve the city image. The current Busan city bus design was first introduced in 2000 and has remained for the last 16 years until now.
Busan City and the Busan Design Center conducted the public preference survey using three basic plans for the project over two weeks in September. As a result, 41.45% of survey participants from about 8,000 selected C plan. The city finalized the bus design after partial modifications and improvements of the C plan.
The new Busan bus design is a simplified spray of an ocean wave representing the image of the marine city of Busan. The city bus will be the color blue to present a fresh, cool and mystic image and the express bus will be orange to show a cheerful and passionate city image.
The bus numbers outside of the buses will be bigger for passengers to easily recognize and the design of the bus route inside of the bus will be improved, making it easier to read.
The new bus design will be applied first to new buses as they start to operate in the city at the end of November.
