WTCF Delegation Attends 8th Annual Meeting of China's Tourism Industry

December 26th, 2020 witnessed the 5th Jilin International Ice and Snow Industry Expo, the 8th Annual China Tourism Industry Development Meeting and grand opening of the 24th Changchun Ice and Snow Festival held in Changchun City, Jilin Province, China. The event was co-hosted by China Tourism News and Jilin Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. It was themed on “High-Level Recovery and High-Quality Development” and included the opening ceremony, keynote speeches, the launching of the Collection of Civilized Tourism Signs and promotional activities of Photos of China, forums for Digital Culture, Tourism and Innovatively-Driven Development, Industrial Growth and High-Quality Development, Tourism and a Better Life, and the announcement of the Top Influencers of Chinese Tourism for 2020.

At the opening ceremony of the annual conference, Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of the World Tourism Cities Federation(WTCF), gave a keynote speech centered on “The Development and Trends of Global Tourism in the Context of the Pandemic”. He analyzed how the 2020 COVID-19 has affected the global tourism economy, predicted the developmental trends of 2021 global tourism, and elaborated on the development and contributions of the WTCF.

On December 27th, during the announcement of the Biggest Influencers of Chinese Tourism for 2020, the top ten were acknowledged for their contributions in the efforts for poverty alleviation through tourism in 2020. Li Baochun, attended the event as one of the key guests and personally presented the awards to the recipients of the Photos of China ceremony.
