Built in 1958, Hollywood Walk of Fame is a sidewalk that stretches from the Hollywood Boulevard to the Vine Street. To show the respect of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and honor those celebrities’ contribution to the entertainment industry over, 2000 stars carved with the names of a mix of actors, musicians, directors, producers, musical and theatrical groups, fictional characters, and others are on the sidewalk. Located in the northwest of the suburb Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles city of California State of America, the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a unique scenic spot on the Hollywood Boulevard and the Vine Street. There are over 2300 star-shaped souvenir medals placed here, each one of them stands for a great Hollywood Artist whose names are engraved on it. The first star was placed in 1960, belonging to Joanne Woodward.

The five-point stars are made of terrazzo rimmed with brass, then inlaid into a charcoal-colored block. Inside the pink five-point stars is the name of the honoree which is also engraved in the brass. Under it is a round inlaid brass emblem indicates the category of the honoree's contributions.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame was built by the South California’s artist Oliver Weismuller, who was employed by the government to raise the “Image” of Hollywood. At the beginning of the foundation, many honorees were able to be awarded several star-shaped medals for their contribution in lots of fields, but over the past decades (the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century) this phenomenon has disappeared, therefore, the honorees who are able to get more than one star were limited to a few people during the early periods.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame is regarded by the LA residents as a landmark of culture and history and it has always been considered as a must visit place. In addition to the over 2000 star-shaped medals engraved with names of world famous people, there is also a world-known Chinese theater TCL and the Dolby Theater, the hosting place of Oscar Award Ceremony.
