Overview
The Amba Hotels City of London Mile will see the world's best athletes and the public running for charity along the iconic London Mile. Starting and finishing next to St Paul's Cathedral, the one mile course follows a historic route which takes in Mansion House, the Bank of England, Guildhall and St Mary le Bow Church, covering part of the London Olympic Marathon course.
The race is London's first annual International Mile Race, held in the year which marks 60 years since Sir Roger Bannister ran the world's first sub-four-minute mile. The Amba Hotels City of London Mile is set to rival New York's NYRR Fifth Avenue Mile and is open to everyone from international elites through to school-age children, families and business teams having the opportunity to run. The day consists of five events: the Family Mile, Youth Mile, Corporate Mile, International Mile and the City of London Mile which is open to runners of all levels and ages.
Olympic athlete and GB middle distance runner Hannah England has pledged her support for the event and is encouraging runners of all levels to take part to showcase their talent and to see how fast they can run a mile on a unique course.
