Fangzheng Primeval Forest Park, located 192 kilometers from downtown Harbin, is a mountain scenic spot. It spans an area of 6 square kilometers and has forest coverage of more than 90 percent.
The park has an elevation of between 200 and 800 meters, and has over 2,000 wild plants, more than 100 species, and about 1,000 edible wild vegetables. According to historical records, Fangzheng County had been sparsely populated since the closed-door policy adopted in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). In the reservation area, the 300 to 400-year-old coniferous and broad-leaf trees with diameters of over 400 centimeters can be seen everywhere. It contains 14 scenic spots in three major scenic areas - Xiaobaishi, Dabaishi and Mingshitang.
