Highlights: Jile Temple is one of the four most famous Buddhist temples in Northeast China. Its overall design, layout and building structure have classic Chinese Buddhist temple characteristics. It has a grand gate, bell towers, drum towers, a Tianwang Hall, a Daxiong Supreme Hall, Sansheng Hall, etc. There is a delicate attic-style octagon 7-storey brick pagoda in the pagoda yard.

Highlights: Located at No 25, Wenmiao Street, Nangang District, Harbin, Harbin Confucius’ Temple is a real Qing-Dynasty-style building complex. It was built between the 15th and 18th year of Republic of China (1926 A.D. to 1929 A.D.), with a total area of 25,000 square meters, and a construction area of 5,674 square meters. Smaller than the Confucius’ temples at Qufu, Shandong and Beijing, Harbin Confucius’ Temple is the 3rd biggest Confucius’ temple in China. And as the biggest and most important Confucius’ temple in Northeast China, it has some unique designs. for example, it has no front gate. It is said in the folk custom that the front gate of any Confucius’ temple should be opened and by the local Number One Scholar after a fete. This temple was completed in 1929, and the imperial examination system was abolished in 1905, so there were no such scholar to open the door for it, hence the Harbin Confucius’ Temple has no front gate, adding more value on its historical values.
