Attractions: Referred to as "NO 1 Drifting in North China", Balan River Drifting area located 45 kilometers away from Yilan county, and is the core part of Danqinghe Provincial Natural Scenic Area. River runs for more than 20 kilometers, rounded by mountains, and the water is crystal clear. Balan River, which means cold water river in Manchu language, originates from south of the Lesser Khingan Mountains. The river feed by abundant of streams and brooks. It winds all along, and the one meter deep water is clear and beautiful, and you can see it quite clear that near the bottom of the river, fishes hide between cobbles. Water temperature keeps cool like no higher than 14 centigrade even in the midsummer, and that's why the river called so.
