Phoenix Lake, the central landscape of Phoenix Lake ecological wetland tourist resort, covers an area of more than 200,000 square meters. With a total investment of 35 million yuan ($5.69 million), the artificial lake features a laser music fountain in the center of the water as well as Sydney-imitated buildings and a waterscape stage, which echo each other at a distance. Featuring impeccable greenbelts on the bank and antique walkways, the resort has become a special landscape combined with manpower and nature.

With a total investment of 28.5 million yuan, the laser music fountain combines a music fountain, water curtain, lasers, digital cinema, surround audio, smartlights and other high-tech devices.

The water from the fountain can reach as high as 160 meters at the center. All these devices are well-known brands of the US and Germany. The patterns of the music fountain can switch among hundreds of designs, known as Century Rainbow, A Great Hawk Spreading Its Wings, Phantom of the Era and Stairway to Dragon. It is a laser music fountain with the highest height of blowout and largest water screen in the country.

A two-floor Sydney-style architecture has an area of 2,000 square meters and includes the functions of exhibition, performance, conference, catering and entertainment. The entire model and lighting of the buildings perfectly matches the laser music fountain, helping cast it as a large-scale multi-function landscape.

The Phoenix Lake Waterscape Stage, which was modeled into a wharf, can not only be used as a viewing platform, providing tourists with a leisure and recreation place to watch the music fountain, but also as a major stage for performance of dances, bands, magic, drama and catwalk shows.

In view of building a natural and ecological environment, the resort invested 40 million yuan into projects, including assorted municipal administration paths, landscapes and afforestation. The area has built 15 slab bridges, eight stone arch bridges, 23 viewing pavilions and seven lounge bridges for hydro lovers. It has also paved 2,785 meters of first and second level roads and park roads as well as planted 11,774 arbors, 89,055 square meters of shrubs, 12,1470 square meters of ground vegetation, 16,050 square meters of aquatic plants and 28,350 square meters of wetland plants.

A marketing operation model has been adopted to help the operation of the tourist zone project by imposing private capital from companies who team up with the government to construct the environment. It not only promotes the value of peripheral lands, but also significantly saves the government' input.

Meanwhile, the government has created a centralized settlement for villagers in the district by "dismantling houses in the old spot and rebuilding joint houses in a new spot." Based on the valid circulation of management rights and the exchange of warrants for earnings, the government has thoroughly resolved the problem of their livelihoods through service sectors such as catering, accommodation, entertainment and leisure.
