Located in the town of Shanquan in the midwest of Longquan Mountain, covering an area of 4.5 square kilometers with over 3.3 square kilometers of peach growing area, the scenic spot of Peach Blossoms Hometown is famous for its rich literature culture and beautiful natural landscape.
Peach Blossoms Hometown is an important part of the province-listed scenic spot Longquan Flower-Fruit Mountain. It is also the cradle of Chinese country poems and the key scenic spot of Chengdu International Peach Blossoms Festival in China.
In Peach Blossoms Hometown, you can enjoy "Blessing Path," "Love Path" and other 7.5-km footpaths. There are also 78 cultural attractions such as "Blooming Flowers and Full Moon," "Post Road and Spring Mouth" and "Poem Wall of Peach Culture." There are six famous cultural relics and historic sites, including Giant Buddhist Temple and Wen Wang’s Stone Tablet.
In recent years, more than 100 grand-scale themed activities, including the Chinese Country Poem Festival and Bind Date in Peach Blossoms, have been held in Peach Blossoms Hometown.
Famous singer Jiang Dawei sang The Place Where Peach Blossoms Bloom here. In addition, Tang Can sang Meeting the Peach Blossoms Again and A'niu sang Blooming Peach Flowers here.
Poets like Shu Ting, Mang Ke, Jidi Majia and Lei Shuyan have also expressed their attachment to this place in their poems. In January 2010, Peach Blossoms Hometown won the honorary title of the "15th Asian (Boao) Tourism Golden Tourist Destination Award and the Most Popular Leisure Tourist Area in Greater China of Asia."
In March 2010, the town of Shanquan, where Peach Blossoms Hometown is located, was awarded as one of the first famous tourist towns with characteristic landscapes in China. In March 2011, it was awarded as the "most beautiful countryside" of Chengdu.
Peach Blossoms Hometown started to develop itself into a national 3A scenic spot since 2007 with a total investment of 25 million yuan ($4.06 million). It reached this goal in June 2008. On this basis, it began to build a national 4A level scenic spot since the end of 2008 with a new increase of investment of over 50 million yuan. In January 2012, Peach Blossoms Hometown became a national 4A scenic spot thanks to efforts by leaders at all levels, direct guidance and assistance of provincial and municipal tourism administrations, and unremitting efforts of the whole scenic spot.
