Jade Lake is a national AAA grade tourist zone located by the Minjiang River at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain. It is 8 km from Dujiang Weir and 9 km from the Qingcheng Mountain. Surrounded by emerald green forests and fresh air, this area enjoys a pleasant climate and is close to the mountain and river.

It looks like a verdurous diamond set on a golden tourist route from Chengdu to Jiuzhai Valley. Jade Lake covers a total area of more than 800 mu (533,000 square meters), including over 200 mu of lakes and over 500 mu of forests, orchards and lawns.

While the breeze is comfortable, the lake stretches green and vast, with green willows and mangrove reflected on the surface of the lake, resembling a mirror. You'll feel relaxed and happy in such a scene.

Besides the beautiful scenery, crowds of egrets also live at the tourist site all year round. They find food and paddle on the lake in the daytime and lean close to each other to rest in the forest at night, forming a rare natural landscape in the western region of Sichuan province.

The environment makes Jade Lake appealing to qigong (Chinese breathing exercise) practitioners. Some qigong masters even come here to collect "vital energy" and practice their skills. Jade Lake is also a resort to rehabilitate.

Beautiful places are always accompanied by beautiful stories. According to legend, after the establishment of Dujiang Weir by Prefect Libing and his son, as governor of Shu in the Qin State, a beautiful lake formed not far from the lower reaches of the Wai River, the outer river of the Min River. Crowds of egrets and sika dears inhabited this scenic and wild lakeside. Among the descendants of Libing, a girl named Cuiyue often traveled along the river down to the lake to appreciate the scene and birds and paddle or have a bath. As time passed, the lake finally gained its name, Jade Lake. Over 2,000 years, sika dears have gone away to the ends of the earth together with the girl Cuiyue, leaving only egrets here, which proliferated generation after generation and continued this miraculous legend.
