Talk to the keepers, feed the animals, and find out all about how Wellington Zoo cares for their animals.
It’s an unforgettable experience and 10% of the proceeds from your encounter will go to conservation projects supported by the zoo.

Holiday Programme Wellington Zoo will make sure your little monkeys don’t get bored during the school holidays.
Four times a year, during each school holiday, they run a holiday programme for kids aged 5-12years old. Every day is different – from getting behind-the-scenes to finding out how the zoo feeds their animals, to making up games for the animals and learning what’s like to be a zoo vet.
Check out Wellington Zoo's website for the schedule and to book.
The Nest Te Kōhanga Even being a Lion doesn’t get you out of a trip to the doctor now and then.
Visit Wellington Zoo's state-of-the-art animal hospital to see their vet team in action, looking after their animals, as well as native animals from around Wellington, and New Zealand.
The purpose-built centre includes a viewing facility into each of the hospitals main surgical rooms so you can see real-life procedures up close, at least twice a day - at 11.15 and 4pm.
Ask questions of the team while they work, and learn more about how Wellington Zoo keeps their animals in tip-top health.
