In 2011, the postal and telecommunication services of the city climbed to 10.25 billion yuan, an increase of 16.7 percent. In Harbin, there are 8.5 million mobile phone users and 1.4 million Internet customers. Last year, Harbin Taiping International Airport transported 7.84 million passengers, an increase of 8 percent. Air cargo throughput reached 76,000 tons, up 7 percent year-on-year.
