Renovations to the lobby at The Ritz-Carlton, Boston Common are complete, and a new bar and lounge has quietly debuted. Introducing Avery Bar, at 10 Avery Street in the heart of Boston’s vibrant Theater District and just steps from the Boston Common. The opening of Avery Bar is a prelude to the opening of a new American Bistro coming this Fall to The Ritz-Carlton.
This new cocktail venue reflects a refined, elegant sensibility tempered with midcentury-inspired forms, furniture and lighting. The space is a modern, sophisticated design that is both a cocktail destination with small plates for tasting and sharing for hotel guests and local residents longing for a more stylish and relaxed feel. Some of the items on the menu and perfect for splitting among friends: chilled gazpacho verde; an artisanal selection of Greek, French and Italian olives; cured meats and foie gras and chicken liver terrine. And for those with a sweet tooth, a selection of miniature Girl Scout cookies or seasonal macaroons will satisfy dessert cravings.
The new space offers 65 seats with residential retro-style lounge seating (including two intimate alcoves that can be cordoned for private parties) and 13 seats at an arch-shaped bar decked with hand-selected Italian Calcutta marble.
Furnishings are sumptuous in leather that already molds and melts to your body as you lounge and sip classic and modern craft cocktails, including ten signature martinis (dubbed "the Avery Ten") to pay homage to the bar's address at 10 Avery Street. Dry, dirty, sour, sweet, and Russian are just some of the "Avery Ten" showcased on the cocktail menu; along with an impressive wine list, beers on tap and cocktails that call to mind pre-prohibition and early 1950's classics while boasting their own modern style and taste.
