Upscale drinkery Barringer Bar is the latest establishment to join the ranks of Main Street hot spots like its downstairs neighbor Clutch City and Okra Charity Bar. The speakeasy-style bar sets itself apart with live entertainment including local blues player the Mighty Org during happy hour on Friday and a variety of musical talent on Saturday.

The laidback lounge atmosphere showcases pictures of Houston from the late 1800s and early 1900s, playing subtle tribute to the building's alleged history as a brothel with a secret door to the former bank next door.

Indulge in high-end classic cocktails like an Old Fashioned or a Sazerac. Tasty bar bites like pop-up Bourbon & Bacon will also be on hand twice a month on Fridays. Keep an eye on Barringer Bar’s schedule on their Facebook page to see other food pop-up options throughout the month.

Barringer Bar is located at 410 Main Street, upstairs from Clutch City Squire. Hours are: Tuesdays to Fridays 5 p.m. to 12 a.m.; Saturdays 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Happy Hour is from 5 to 8 p.m. weekdays.
