Namdo kimchi in the Gwangju area is especially famous for its taste. It is salted sufficiently and filled with salted fish and many ingredients including  pepper. Giving it a taste is both hot and cool. The Gwangju Kimchi Festival was first hosted in and has now developed as the World Kimchi Festival, which takes the initiative role of spreading the excellence of Gwangju Kimchi domestically and also to the world, promoting the growing the Kimchi industry.
