Although Veliko Turnovo has a small railway station, it only covers a small area. The nearby town of Gorna Oriahovitza hosts the main railway interchange for Veliko Turnovo. Once you get into Gorna, you can take a short taxi ride into Veliko centre.

Travelling into: You can travel to and from Turkey, Romania and Greece from Gorna mainline station. There is a night train which runs from Sofia to Gorna, and one from Bucharest through Rousse to Gorna.
