Laws on hiring cars in Bulgaria

Bulgarian law states that all cars must be equipped with a first aid kit. The minimum driving age in Bulgaria is 18.To hire a car in Bulgaria you must have your passport and driving license. Note you must wear a seat belt in the driver and passenger seat, but baby car seats are not yet compulsary in Bulgaria.

Speed limits

The maximum speed in towns is 50 km per hour if there are no additional restrictions or limits. Outside of towns speed limit is 90 km per hour. The motorways have 120 km per hour speed limit.
