The donation of the art collection as well as the entire property of Nestor and Aliki Telloglou to the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki resulted in the establishment of this foundation, in 1972. The abovementioned collection being the core of the Foundation includes: works of arts from various civilizations, such as statuettes, primarily form the Hellenistic period, Corinthian, Hellenistic and Roman pottery, Persian miniatures, samples of Arabic and Chinese art, as well as woodreliefs form Thailand. Furthermore, works of art by important Greek and European artists form the main body of the collection, which has been enriched with either the acquisition of works of art and sculpture, or with donations from artists and art lovers as Tonis and Ioanna Spiteri. Moreover, in the Foundation’s exhibition “participates” the Eptanesian School of the 18th century, and the most aspiring Greek artists of the 19th century and the 20th century: Lytras, Kontoglou, etc.

The Teloglion Foundation of Art disposes: an amphitheatre, able to host musical events, seminars, and conferences; a library, which consists of 15.000 titles; a museum shop, where are on sale the Foundation’s publications, and other art books; workshops, and a recently renovated cafe. Finally, the Foundation launches educational programs and conducted tours for the exhibition.

The museum of the Teloglion Foundation of Art is housed in an excellent building from the point of view of architectural design. It is located at the very top of the University campus, on its highest point, with a view of this green part of the city and the Thermaikos Gulf. The building is situated in a 24,000-square-meter-park with a small outdoor amphitheater for various events and quiet relaxing niches.
