Ishim River Embankment
While walking along the embankment our attention is attracted by the bronze figure of horseman on a granite pedestal. This is the monument to restored Kazakh nationhood, and to Kenessary-khan. Kenessary Kasymuly is the grandson of Abylay-khan and the last Kazakh Khan. During his life he tried to defend the independence of the country, fought for freedom of Kazakh people. The authors of this work of monumental art are: sculptor Nurlan Dalbay and architect Shota Valikhanov. Height of the horseman is 7 m; height of the pedestal is 6 m. Total weight is 10 tones. This monument was opened on May 10, 2001.
