Lying at the southern tip of Dalian, Laotieshan is the highest (466 meters) hill in Lushun. As a National Natural Reserve, the hill is a habitat for over 200 kinds of migrating birds. Every spring and fall, during migration season, as many as 10,000 birds flock here. It has been called the “Birds' Eden.” In front of the main peak is the promontory rock from which one can see the natural boundary between the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea.
