Chengshan Town, an ancient town in Dalian, is located in Zhuanghe city. It covers an area of 8 square kilometers. Chengshan Ancient Town is home to many ancient cultural relics, temples and scenic landscapes, making it an ideal tourist destination. The ancient town was built in the Jin Dynasty (1115-1234) which has a history of more than 1,580 years. The city is divided into two parts because of the tower. Formerly, the town had a southern gate, an eastern gate, an observation tower, a “forbidden city,” a beacon tower and barracks. All of them were vital battlefields in the Sui (AD 581-618), Tang (AD 618-907), Liao (916-1125) and Jin dynasties.
