It is said that the “Laodingfeng” was named by Qianlong Emperor, the sixth emperor of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) , during his trip in Shaoxing of the Zhejiang province. The so-called “Laodingfeng” means there is always more delicious food in the cooking vessel. From then on, Laodingfeng became popular throughout the country.

In 1912, a Laodingfeng was opened by Wang Aida and XuXinting, both of them came from Shaoxing. There were two kinds of commodities sold in this Laodingfeng, the fresh and dry food featuring Southern China’s flavor, while at the other part of the store, the desserts of Southern China were made and sold. For the first time, the portable grill was introduced to Harbin .

The Laodingfeng in Harbin was established by XuYuduo, a renowned dessert master. A variety of desserts are sold in Laodingfeng, of which the moon cake is the most popular one. Laodingfeng’s moon cake is made from raw materials of superior quality, and tastes crushable and soft with a distinguished smell. It is a good choice as a souvenir when someone came to Harbin.
