In Beijing's northeast corner, there is an Arts Zone built based on a factory of 50's last century, which named 798. It is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing Dashanzi street district was also known as Dashanzi Art District. Formerly, there was lot of old electronics factories like 798 in this place. 798 Art Zone is a very great region to more than 60 million square meters.

Since 2001 some artists from Beijing and began to gather at 798 factory, they use the artists unique vision fund this place has unique advantages in the arts. They made full use of original factory style, a little decoration and finishing turned into a display of distinctive art and creativity. This unique 798 Art Zone has caused the current international media and public attention and has become a new landmark in Beijing Urban Culture.

One after another, bars have sprouted across Chaoyang's Dasanzi Art Zone, or the 798 Art Zone, eventually forming a bar street. It's a must-go for tourists who love art, gourmet and, of course, bar culture.

Travel Tips:

1. It will take more than twenty minutes to walk around the Art Zone. You can buy a map at galleries or bars, or just wander.

2. You can either take a taxi or bus to Beijing 798 Art Zone. However, taxis are not allowed to drive into the zone.

3. When night falls, the zone is poorly lit.

4. The art zone provides guide service. During the art festival, there are also volunteers to be your travel guides.

Transportation

By Car:

Enter the Airport Expressway via the Sanyuan Bridge or Siyuan Bridge, and leave the expressway at the Jiuxianqiao Road Exit.

By Subway:

Take Subway Line 10 and alight at Sanyuanqiao Station. Leave from Exit C and find the Sanyuanqiao Bus Stop. Get on Bus 401 and off at Dashanzi Lukou Nan (Dashanzi Road Crossing South) Station.

By Bus:

Take Bus No. 401, 402, 405, 445, 909, 955, 973, 988, or 991 to Dashanzi Road Crossing South or Wangyefen Stop.
