Billings Estate National Historic Site is Ottawa's oldest wood-framed house and offers an urban oasis filled with history, nature and local connections.
This architecturally-unique house was built in 1827, only 15 years after Braddish Billings arrived in Canada to make his fortune as a farmer and businessman. Today, new exhibits, creative programs, and customized tours are all designed to tell the story of one of Ottawa's founding families, spanning four generations of the Billings descendants. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the house, its permanent and temporary exhibits, year-round special events and public programs, or a Victorian-style high tea in Lamira Billings' exquisite garden.
