Qingcheng Mountain is one of the birthplaces of Taoism. It is located in southwest of Dujiangyan, Sichuan province; it is called the "Zhangren Mountain" in ancient times.
It is about 68 kilometers from Chengdu, and 10 kilometers from Dujiangyan Water Conservancy Project. The main peak, Laoxiaoding, is 1,260 meters above sea level.
Qingcheng Mountain be divided into two parts, the former mountain and the back mountain. The former mountain is the main part of the Qingcheng scenic spot with an area of 15 square kilometers. It has beautiful landscape, rich historical sites and cultural relics.
The main scenic spot in the former mountain are as following: Jianfu Palace, Tianshi Cave, Chaoyang Cave, Zushi Palace, and Shangqing Palace.
The back mountain is about 100 square kilometers with clean water, serene forest, and grand hills.
In 2000, Qingcheng Mountain is listed into UNESCO's World Culture Heritage catalogue along with Dujiangyan.
