From 1992, Jiaozuo’s Wenxian county, which known as the birthplace of taijiquan (tai chi chuan) held an international taichiquan annual conference, in order to build a brand name as “the Land of Tai Chi Chuan” , to promote the tai chi chuan culture and to strengthen the exchange among the tai chi chuan lovers throughout the world. The event served as bridge for tai chi chuan international exchange.

In 2000, the annual conference was held in Jiaozuo and be held per two years. The tai chi chuan annual conference was renamed as “Jiaozuo International Taijiquan Exchange Competition” from 2005.

To date, the event has been held six sessions successfully. Thousands fans of tai chi chuan from more than 30 countries and regions took part in this competition every session. It is a tai chi chuan competition that with most international recognition in the world.
