Erguxian opera is also named erjiaxian opera. It originated from the Dasima village in Jiaozuo’s Wuzhi county. Erguxian opera is sung in the Huaifu’s dialect and usually features social stories that are close to life. This opera is very popular in Jiaozuo as well as its surrounding area for its original tune that sang in local dialect and rich local colors.

Erguxian opera was listed in the second batch of National Intangible Cultural Heritages in 2007.
