The Black Dragon Pool is one of the oldest Taoist temples in Yunnan Province and has long been regarded as the most ancient Toaist shrine in central Yunnan.
Since the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), officials in Kunming spent efforts to erect pavilions in the Green Lake of Kunming. Green Lake is the most popular park in downtown Kunming and attracts multitudes of visitors from home and abroad each year to witness the beauty of its emerald-like water, weeping willows, and red-beaked seagulls who traveled from Siberia to spend the winter since 1985.
As one of the state 4A-level scenic attractions in Kunming, Kunming World Horticultural Expo Garden is located in the northeast suburb of Kunming and adjacent to the Golden Palace Park.
Xihua Garden is located in the west (“Xi” in Chinese) of Kunming City. Xihua Garden gets its name from the many flowers planted in the garden. Hua, in Chinese means flower. The buildings in the Garden are shaped after the folk dwelling style of the Bai people.
Yunnan Wildlife Park is located northeast of Kunming, about seven kilometers from the downtown.
