Main Activities:

1. Opening Ceremony

The opening ceremony will be held at Riverside Hotel in Beijing on the morning of September 4 when honourable guests on behalf of the China National Tourism Administration and a few international organizations will give speeches. It will be followed by the launch of the WTCF We-media platform. Later, the initiation of new members will be held.

2. Third WTCF Council Meeting At the meeting, the secretariat of the WTCF will give the 2013-2014 annual report, followed by the announcement of the 2015 host city. Representatives involved will also discuss next year’s working plan.

3. Forums

Forums themed around “market and cooperation” will be held on the afternoon of September 4 and on September 5, when tourism administrators, tourism entities managers, and industry scholars from home and abroad will get together to discuss new trends in the tourism industry, particularly the role of the WTCF and the media regarding the topics of “WTCF: Driving the Development of Tourism Cities,” “Analysis of China’s Tourism Market,” and “Digital Media and Smart Tourism, Smart City.”

4. Tourism Cities Expo

The expo will be held on September 4-5 with member entities displaying their images, tourism resources and products. It aims to promote cooperation between member cities and institutions on the basis of the experiences of the first two expos.

5. Tourism Marketplace

The “Tourism Marketplace” trade fair opens on September 4. It will be a good opportunity for tourism trading buyers and sellers, member cities, and tourism companies at home and abroad to get together to seek resources, products and potential business partners.

6. Travel Presentation

The “Travel Presentation” tourism promotion fair on September 5 helps member entities publicise their tourism resources and products.

7. Closing Ceremony

The summit ends on the evening of September 5 with a celebration to conclude the 2014 Beijing Fragrant Hills Tourism Summit and hand over the flag to next year’s host.
