The San Polirone monastery comprises a remarkable group of buildings at the centre of San Benedetto Po. It dates back to over a thousand years ago, and its artistic heritage includes frescoes, archaeological remains, statues, and objects that illustrate the sort of culture extant in 1007. The monastery was suppressed by Napoleon.
