Teatro alla Scala 2013/2014
The new Teatro alla Scala season consists of 16 shows, 10 operas and 6 ballets. Italian authors are prominent on the programme with works by Rossini, Donizetti and Mascagni plus, of course, Giuseppe Verdi who is in a leading position this year thanks to all the bicentenary celebration; the season will open with "La Traviata".
The La Scala dance programme, starting on December 17th, will be dedicated to a classical repertoire with the participation of major international performers: Jewels by Balanchine, Swan Lake, Serata Petit (Le Jeune homme et la Mort and Pink Floyd Ballet), Don Quixote and Romeo and Juliet.
A great programme of music not to be missed with a special "Strauss series" which will pay tribute to the 150th anniversary of the birth of the German composer and a new "Pollini series" that, in four programmes, puts Beethoven in dialogue with our time.
