This is the right place for any sport. The city offers broad range of structures suitable for a large number of disciplines, for those who wish to simply get involved in sport, as well as for those who like to like to participate competitively.

Just naming places such as the Palalido in Piazza Stuparich and the San Siro Race Course brings to mind the triumph and the passion of those that enjoy both the exertion and the relaxation that sport offers.

There are more than 200 thousand citizens that participate every week in the five thousand sporting societies in Milan at a professional or amateur level.

In Milan, the Stadio Meazza di San Siro (San Siro Stadium) is to soccer what La Scala Theatre is to opera. It is a theatre for the intracity challenges between Milan and Inter and is an international showcase of this great game. The Arena Civica is also located in the Lombard capital and is one of the oldest sporting structures in Milan.

For years it brought prestige to the sports of cycling and athletics and hosted events and disciplines of all kinds. The historic Vigorelli Maspes Velodrome has a place of honour in the annals of cycling as the site of memorable challenges amongst champions of the cycling track, especially during the ‘50s and ‘60s.
