Countries and People: Chile, Love for the Land, its Fruits and its People
What will be the interpretation of the theme of Expo Milano 2015 from Chile?
Chile will express the theme Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, by showing how you can produce food with respect for people and the environment. The concept that our country will express " L’amore del Cile " ( Love of Chile) will demonstrate the passion that drives our entire food chain.
By what means you will communicate the theme through your participation in Expo Milano 2015?
Our presentation of the theme of Expo will focus on three key elements: fruit, Chilean talent and feelings. Chile will show the world its extraordinary fruit, its architectural and culinary skills and sensations that can be felt within our country, starting with how to set the table up and ending up with the aromas and flavors of beef stew or tamale accompanied by a Chilean wine.
Can you tell us three reasons to visit the pavilion of Chile?
The reasons to visit us at the Universal Exposition are many, but having to choose three, we expect that in our pavilion you can admire the breathtaking scenery of Chile, meet our culture and learn our cuisine. In about 2000 square meters you will have the opportunity to virtually visit Chile thanks to the most advanced 3D technology and interactive displays. For example, there are reproductions of a typical Chilean orchard and a popular market and eventually you'll end up around a beautiful table full of our specialties.
Do you have a personal memoir on Italy which you would like to share with us?
Visiting Italy is always a pleasure, especially Milan. From the moment you arrive, you have the feeling of being in one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world: the diversity of the people, the beauty of the architecture and the elegance of the streets, strikes you. In particular, for me, Italy is the source of the history and cultural roots of Latin America.
What will be the main gastronomic experience in the exhibition space of Chile?
Surely the "Table of Chile", made entirely of "lenga” wood by the artist Osvaldo Peña. Here visitors can taste a wide variety of products and dishes such as corn cakes, the tamales, stews and seafood. It will be a meeting of intense and unique flavors, but also a reference point for people who want to learn more about the food and culture of Chile. The idea is that after they have come, visitors will think: "We absolutely have to visit Chile."
