Ten Years of the Salonedel Gusto and
Terra Madre
From Thursday, October 23 to Sunday, October 27, the world of quality food can be found at the LingottoFiere in Turin for the tenth edition of the Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre , the famous event created by Slow Food and organized in conjunction with the Piedmont Region and the City of Turin and in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry. Italian excellence: in ten years, the event in Turin has become a point of reference for those in the world who are interested in quality food and the people who produce it. The theme of the Fair this year will be family farming, for which this year’s FAO World Food Day has been dedicated to. Great importance is also given to the Arcadel Gusto, an initiative designed to save and retrieve quality foods at risk of extinction. As in every year, parallel to the Salonedel Gusto, there will be Terra Madre: a global meeting point for all those manufacturers who put primary emphasis on quality, environmental sustainability, and support for small communities.
Expo 2015 Milan Salonedel Gusto and Terra Madre
Among the visitors and exhibitors from all over the planet this year at the Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre, Expo Milano 2015 should not be missed. The Universal Exhibition will be present with a booth in Padiglione Oval, a space conceived as a real window on world since it is home to the international market, with over 100 stands from the Slow Food Presidia and Earth Markets International; both sections within an area shared with the Italian Pavilion in Padiglione 2, where there will also be experts interviewed on Expo themes. The meeting between Slow Food and Expo Milano 2015 will focus on the theme of the conference: Cultivating biodiversity to feed the planet: Slow Food Expo 2015, which will be held at the Salone del Gusto on Thursday, October 23 with speeches by Carlo Petrini, President of Slow Food; Giuseppe Sala, Commissioner of the Government for Expo Milano 2015 and CEO of Expo 2015 S.p.A and Giosuè De Salvo, spokesman for Expo Committee of the People. The event will be an excellent opportunity to think about how visions of the future of nutrition and of the Slow Food movement and Expo Milano 2015 can collaborate at the Universal Exposition, creating a positive synergy between Good, Clean and Fair; the Slow Food motto, and Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life, the theme of the Event. Taking place just six months before the opening of Expo Milan 2015, Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre is a place where essential concepts can be developed together during the six months of the Universal Exhibition, where it will be the preservation of biodiversity that characterizes the presence Slow Food.
