Starting from today, the German chef Alfons Schuhbeck will demonstrate his passion for the message contained in the Universal Theme, Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life with his dishes. His participation as Event Ambassador was made official this evening in Munich, at the HVB Forum . Schuhbeck’s contribution to Expo Milano 2015 will be his experience in the wise use of condiment as a tool for disease prevention. "As Hippocrates said, our diet should be our medicine and our medicine should be our food supply," said the chef. "We are very happy that a chef of Schuhbeck’s stature has decided to become an Ambassador of Expo Milano 2015", said Piero Galli , General Manager of Sales & Entertainment at Expo 2015 S.p.A. "With him, the Universal Exhibition will have a prominent representative of international cuisine. The attention to health that this well-known chef has always shown in preparing his dishes will be of great help in the promotion of correct habits at the table, one of the main objectives of Expo Milano 2015 ".

Schuhbeck is a TV star and the official chef to football club FC Bayern Munich. He has cooked for German Chancellor Angela Merkel and several representatives of international politics, including President George W. Bush senior and Arnold Schwarzenegger . He was awarded, among other prizes, a Michelin star, 17 points and 3 toques by Gault Millau, 4 spoons by Aral Schlemmer Atlas and 5 Star Diamond Awards.
Who are the Chef Ambassadors?
Since Expo 2015 will be a major global event dedicated to nutrition, a pivotal role in the project is played by theChefs. Each Ambassador has his perspective and his vision of the meaning of the theme Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life. Each chef reflects on important issues such as sustainable agriculture, quality ingredients, healthy eating and the future. Interviews with chefs are set within the kitchens of their restaurants. Each was asked to add an ingredient to the Universal Exposition that is representative of the themes of the event and that characterize their personality and their work.
