Nutrition, the central theme of Expo Milano 2015, together with that of sustainability, will be an opportunity to encourage reflection and education on faith, justice, peace and the relationships between people, the economy and environmental protection .

Symposiums on the right to food in the world and on food education

The Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore with the Laboratory UCSC Expolab will, as scientific partners and with an interdisciplinary approach, promote cultural projects and initiatives on the themes of Expo Milano 2015. Projects include the international symposium " Right to food, peace and democracy: research and education in an ethical perspective ", a three-day conference on the theme of the right to food and its ethical and political implications for peace and democracy. The Pediatric Hospital Bambino Gesù is promoting nutritional education for the family, supporting the idea that the meal not only serves to educate, but to cure. In modern medicine, food is indeed a therapy that can treat metabolic diseases such as diabetes or celiac disease.

The four concepts of the Pavilion

Inside the Pavilion, with its theme "Non di solo pane" four concepts will be expressed: ecological, economical-trade, educational and religious. Starting from the Christian dimension of nourishment, the exhibition will feature forms of artistic nature, with the understanding that art is universal in its message and can overcome language and cultural barriers. The main element of the pavilion is the human one; each visitor will be welcomed and accompanied along the path inside the Pavilion personally.
