Dresden is the capital of the Free State of Saxony in Germany and the most beautiful city in the former East Germany. It was called “Florence of Elbe River” before World War II. It is a cultural, political and economic center in the eastern part of Germany. It lies in the southeast of Germany, at the bottom of “Elbe River,” an area south of Berlin.
