【Introduction】:On November 15th, WTCF and WTTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The two organizations are willing to carry out all-round constructive cooperation in areas that are in line with the development ideas, common interests and common concerns of the two sides.
On November 15th, the Asia Leaders Forum 2019 of World Travel & Tourism Council was held in Shanghai, China. With the theme of ‘The Future of Sustainable Tourism Development in Asia’, the forum has invited tourism industry leaders, experts and scholars at home and abroad to discuss topics including Asian tourism trends, cultural heritage conservation, safety and facilitation of travel, tourism cooperation among countries along the Belt and Road, the promotion and management of global destinations, the social responsibility of the tourism industry, future employment prospects, etc.
At the forum, WTCF and WTTC signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The two organizations are willing to carry out all-round constructive cooperation in areas that are in line with the development ideas, common interests and common concerns of the two sides. Both parties will,through actively promoting the development ideas of either party to the members of the other party, conducting cooperation in academic research, actively participating in and supporting various activities held by the other party, jointly carrying out training programs in the field of tourism services, and actively supporting cooperation between members of the two organizations, establish a mutually beneficial strategic cooperative partnership between international organizations.
Gloria Guevara, WTTC President & CEO, said: “We are excited to enter this partnership with WTCF in order to broaden the scope of both our organisations knowledge and influence. We believe that together we will be able to share our collective expertise and continue to shed light on the importance of Travel & Tourism development.”
Mr. Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary General of WTCF, reiterated the importance on which WTCF focuses in tourism cities and expressed his willingness to further stengthen its coopertation with world tourism industrial chain by joining hands with WTTC in light of the MoU both sides just signed to promote the development of the world tourism.

WTTC, as a forum organization of business leaders in the global tourism industry, has its members composed of presidents, chairmen and CEOs of nearly 100 of the most prominent companies in the global tourism industry with a commitment of raising the awareness of governments and the public on the importance of tourism development. As the world’s only organization for entrepreneurs of the tourism sector, WTTC has an important impact on the sustainable development of the global tourism industry.
