Overview of the stadium:

Shanghai Art Theater is located at the junction of Jiangning Road and Kangding Road in Jingan District; established in 2001, it is next to Jingan Sports Center. Mr. Gong Xueping, deputy party secretary of Shanghai, wrote "Art Theater" for the theater which means "ocean of art, all rivers run into the sea". It is a brand new intellectualized and modern art theater.

The theater has the function of ballet performance, Chinese opera, drama, chamber music and variety show with 999 seats (278 seats in upstairs and 721 seats in downstairs).

The theater is equipped with high-level stages, lights, audio equipment, and acoustic facilities with 260 square meters main stage and 240 square meters deputy stage. The stage is of full function and can realize translation, elevation & drop and rotation.

In addition, the Shanghai Art Theater is also equipped with the supporting facilities such as restaurant, coffee shop and laundry room; the theater sincerely welcomes domestic and overseas literature and art organizations for literature and art performance to make the theater be the real art ocean.
