The Inner Alster Lake Film Festival comes as expected every fall. Accompanying the dusk, from September 5th to 8th, from 20:30, audience can enjoy three profound movies, and on the evening of September 7, the audience can also watch the opening opera of the new season of Hamburg national opera house via broadcast.

Hamburg city shopping management organization, der Lebendige Jungfernstieg e.V. and Hamburg Film Festival organizer (FILMFEST HAMBURG) work together to make Hamburg city center completely different. A large screen floating on Inner Alster Lake transforms Jungfernstieg into a fascinating outdoor cinema.

The Inner Alster Lake Film Festival opens on September 5. The first film that night was directed by Richard Lester, about The Beatles' "A Hard Day's Night" (UK 1964).

On September 6, "Saturday Night Fever" (USA 1977) directed by John Badham appeared on the floating screen. This American song and dance film starring John Travolta has been praised by the audience.

On September 7th, when the new season of the Hamburg National Opera opens, the screen of the Jungfernstieg will broadcast Shostakovich's opera "Die Nase", which is another major event of the Inner Alster Lake Film Festival. This year marks the fifth year that The Inner Alster Lake Film Festival has cooperated with the Hamburg National Opera. Every year, the film festival will broadcast the masterpieces of the opera house live, letting the public enjoy summer nights on the Jungfernstieg, bringing the atmosphere of the outdoor scene to a climax. Before the live broadcast, at 20 pm, Shostakovich's music will ring through the Jungfernstieg to warm up the film.

On September 8, Mick Jackson's "The Bodyguard" (USA 1992) also showed up. This American thriller starring Kevin Costner and Whitney Houston is known for its wonderful soundtrack and theme song "I Will Always Love You".

The Inner Alster Lake Film Festival has been successfully held for seven times. After the shopping trip in Hamburg, sitting in the steps of the Jungfernstieg in the quiet atmosphere of the city center, enjoying the film is also an unforgettable experience. There are also many dining options for tourists around.
