Sept 28: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 10 in Shanghai municipality, 5 in Guangdong province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Fujian province and 1 in Shanxi province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 12 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 786 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.

As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,823 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,638 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 185 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Sept 27, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,372 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,553 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 185 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 831,369 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,020 were still under medical observation.

On Sept 27, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 14 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 38 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 367 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 365 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Sept 27, 5,621 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,065 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 4,786 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 510 in Taiwan (7 had died and 480 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
