Events DC, Washington's official convention and sports authority, has announced it will provide $18 million in emergency funding for the city's hospitality and tourism industry.
According to Events DC, the package will comprise $5 million for hospitality and restaurant recovery efforts, $5 million for hotels' recovery efforts, $5 million for undocumented workers across the District of Columbia and $3 million for destination marketing efforts.
The funding will tap Events DC's revenue from managing and operating 10 events venues across the city, including the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, the Carnegie Library at Mount Vernon Square, the RFK Stadium-Armory Campus and Nationals Park.
