The Dubai Road and Transport Authority (RTA) announced that in line with the ease on movement restrictions citywide, paid parking has resumed on working days from 8am to 6pm and 8pm until midnight. Fridays will remain free of charge.

During the 24-Hour National Sterilisation Programme, alongside free parking, taxi, buses and metro fares had also been discounted. Now, the RTA shared that public buses, metro and taxi fares have also returned to the normal rates. The metro line is currently operating from 7am to 11pm.

#RTA announced that the public parking fees will resume back to normal, starting from Sunday, April 26 from 8 AM until 6 PM, and the second period from 8 PM until 12 midnight.#RTA pic.twitter.com/Mn2o0o2hpb— RTA (@rta_dubai) April 23, 2020.

All RTA staff and passengers in Dubai must adhere to the guidelines provided by the Government of Dubai and Dubai’s Supreme Committee of Crisis and Disaster Management. This includes wearing masks throughout the journey, practicing social distancing and avoiding cash payments. The RTA management must also enforce regular sterilisation efforts to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus which has now infected over 2.9 million people across the globe.

However, the Integrated Transport Committee in Abu Dhabi has clarified that parking will remain free in the state during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
