Whether you can easily navigate your way around the city, or have a stranger point you in the direction of a pesky ramble when there is no signal, or whether you can meet new people at a local bar, these are all criteria for how welcome the city makes you feel.
Hamburg ranks fifth on the list of the 50 friendliest cities in the world, according to Big seven Traval.
The residents of Hamburg are very open and they are very welcoming to outsiders, so Hamburg is an ideal city for tourists. It's family-friendly, safe, and has a rich cultural heritage that quickly makes visitors feel like locals. Although it is not as well known as other German cities, it has its own special charm.
Ranked vancouver, Kuala Lumpur and Hamburg as the top three cities, and Big seven Traval gave the corresponding reason:
Number 3, Brugge, Belgium
Brugge is one of the friendliest cities in the world, a fairy-tale place. The charming atmosphere is hard to describe. It has a rustic feel and locals will walk an extra mile to greet visitors. From walking guides to waiters serving hot chocolate and waffles, it's the people who make bruges stand out.
Number 2, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Malaysians are naturally friendly and very friendly to strangers. Kuala Lumpur is a prime example. The easy-going nature of the locals and their friendly attitude towards tourists mean you can easily make friends here. Kuala Lumpur is a popular city for tourists and expats alike.
Number 1, Vancouver, Canada
Who's number one on the list of the world's friendliest cities? Thanks to the very friendly residents, Vancouver won the first place. Visitors can get help from local people in a timely manner, and the atmosphere of the community makes it easy to socialize in vancouver.
Asian cities as a whole are highly ranked, with Guangzhou also making it into the list at no. 38.
