The Tianjin Hengdeli Watch was founded by the Shanghai Hengdeli Office, in 1920, on Xu St, in the Japanese concession, and later opened a branch in the French concession, in 1932. After 1980, it expanded its business from clocks, watches and eye glasses to gold and jewelry. Then, a reworking of the business in 1990 added some new luster to the decades-old shop, whose name means "Everything going well and benefitting a lot".
