Zhaomu Mountain Park includes a mountain chain in the central area of Northern New Zone and is known for its lush landscape and historical heritage.
Feng Shixing, a famous scholar in the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), built a house in these mountains where he took care of his sick mother - accounting for the origin of the name Zhaomu, which means “to look after one’s mother” in Chinese. The memorial archways, which date back to the Ming (1368-1644)and Qing(1644-1911)Dynasties , are well-preserved, and Xiaomu Spring also enhances the serene atmosphere. (Xiaomu means “honoring and loving one’s mother”)
Zhaomu Mountain Park thus commemorates the Chinese concept of filial piety. It was built with investment of 1.6 billion yuan, and covers an area of more than 700 acres – while also aiming to promote eco-friendly urbanization
