Amsterdam's open-air film festival Pluk de Nacht (Seize the Night), returns for the annual round of free outdoor cinema from 6 to 16 August 2014.
Seize the Night
Pluk de Nacht was originally created after the organisers witnessed great talent and fine works of cinematic art missing out on getting picked up by Dutch distributors. As a result it's a breath of al-fresco air with unique offerings of not-yet-released films, animations, documentaries and shorts.
Cinema under the stars
This festival takes place at Het Stenen Hoofd (a short walk from Amsterdam Central Station). The pop-up multiplex features screenings projected on sky-high screens, in an idyllic waterside location - deckchairs, camp fires and cocktails included!
Language no problem
Genres range from absurd rom-coms to hauntingly muffled horror flicks. Many of the films are plucked from a star crop featured at the major international film festivals and are screened in English or subtitled.
Check the Pluk de Nacht website for more information nearer the time.
