Strand West is a permanent “city beach” located near the Houthavens (wood docks) in Amsterdam’s Westerpark district. The wide 20,000 square meters beach offers panoramic views over the waters of the IJmeer. Amsterdam residents and visitors hang out at this sandy beach where you can laze in a hammock or a beanbag chair, drink a cocktail, eat some tapas or play beach volleyball with your friends or colleagues. It is not possible to swim at Stand West.
