Get your skates on for the weekly Friday Night Skate, an institution in Amsterdam! The Friday Night Skate is a free-to-join roller skating procession which departs at 20:15 on Fridays all year round (weather permitting) from outside the former Filmmuseum in the Vondelpark.

Discover Amsterdam on skates

The ever-changing route (normally about 20kms) is a great way to see the city, allowing you to skate in places where you wouldn’t on your own. The group also puts on separate rollerskate workshops and specially themed skates like the ‘Midsummer skate’, ‘Santa Skate’ and a Halloween ‘Fright Night Skate’ (costumes encouraged!).

Skate rental stands are located near the park's entrances. Weather dependant: check their website to confirm that the skate will go ahead.
