Located directly by the Grosse Wallanlage car park where once the Zoological Garden stood and then an amusement park, the blue tent of the Fliegenden Bauten has stood since 2002.

Across from Heiligengeistfeld and in direct proximity to the Reeperbahn, the Fliegenden Bauten has established itself in Hamburg as a theatre tent for entertainment, one of the city's most unusual venues.

The Fliegenden Bauten has already been delighting Hamburg's visitors for twelve years. The theatre and restaurant are an enormous tent located directly opposite Heiligengeistfeld. The circus tent is primarily known for its notable theatre and cabaret presentations. And there is no lack of circus shows and concerts. Under the tent is room for up to 600 people.

It has a wide-ranging offering of shows. Musicals, dance reviews, comedy, concerts, artistry or readings – with over 20 productions and 300 presentations for 150,000 spectators a year, acclaimed artists present intelligent evening entertainment for discriminating tastes. From rock groups of international repute and national comedy stars to world famous stars, spectators can see nearly everything in the theatre. It is a multifunctional location that even hosts spectacular galas, fashion shows or corporate events.

The Fliegenden Bauten sees itself as a rather noble location for a night on the town where you can combine seeing a show with an elegant dining experience. In addition to good entertainment and a comfortable atmosphere, the Fliegenden Bauten offers culinary delights with a seasonally changing menu. Food and drinks can be enjoyed before the show and during the intermission.

The establishment has earned an excellent reputation throughout Hamburg, and it provides gourmets with a wide selection of regional specialities. Great importance is consciously given to an exquisite ambience and an appropriate style of dress is expected. You can reserve a champagne table for two to six people during the intermission, for example, and get in the mood for the next part of the show. The drinks are usually available at a flat rate, and you can enjoy as much coffee, tea, beer or sparkling wine as you like. Those with VIP boxes have the option of an exclusive dinner in the restaurant of the Fliegenden Bauten in Hamburg's most popular city centre area.
